Comet CH-32 stubby

Introduction

The Author has been making commercial antennas for years. This is a report for a another commercially made one. This one is single-band terminated with a male BNC connector. The return loss is being 9 db on 2-meters.

A cable was added in line to change the figure of 7 db on 2-meters.

For HT use this will probably work in most cases, especially on low power. There are other variables to the best (lowest) return figures, such as hand placement and type of radio. For example, some hand-held radios have more metal than others to which the former type helps improve that return level in many cases. To bad it's not found with a SMA connector. This is about typical on the better stubbys.
